Collecting Social Security
Collect at 62? At 66 or 67 when you reach full retirement age? At age 70 when you can get up to 32% more? It depends. When should my spouse collect? It depends. Our answers will depend on your situation. While you might need an appointment to discuss your circumstances, come here some general thoughts and reasons behind when and how to collect. Is Social Security going away? What does life expectancy have to do with when I collect? If I am not collecting Social Security does that mean I cannot retire? What if I want to continue working, what effect does that have on receiving benefits? Will a run out of money if I use my IRA to supplement income until I collect Social Security?
