Holiday Hoopla 2017

Planning with Purpose held a Holiday Hoopla Event on December 9, 2017 at the Choconut Center United Methodist Church.  Our guests created their own centerpieces for their holiday tables.  No two centerpieces were the same as each person put their own flair on their centerpiece.

We also had a great time raffling off three gift baskets.  We had a basket of aromatherapy and spa items, a wine and cheese basket and a beverage basket with a variety of coffee, teas, and cocoas.  The $98 raised from raffling these baskets was donated to Mom’s House in Johnson City.  Everyone came in saying they could not do this and look at the pieces that came out of it!

Pumpkin Painting 2017

Planning with Purpose spent the day painting pumpkins with the residents and staff at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on October 7, 2017.  We had cider and donuts from the Cider Mill in Endicott while painting pumpkins.  Residents decorated their rooms and the facility with the pumpkins.  A lot of fun and laughter was had, and we are looking forward to doing this again!

Reducing the Mess: Preparing your Executor/Executrix

Many of us have had the experience of a family member passing away and either we or someone we are close to has had to deal with what is left behind.  Maybe not knowing the deceased’s wishes.  Maybe not knowing where assets are. Maybe not knowing who to contact.  Maybe having to clean out a house that someone has lived in for 30 or 40 years.  Maybe not understanding as the surviving spouse what you have for income coming in.  And…  and…  and…  This list could go on and on.  Come hear our thoughts on how to put a plan in place  to reduce the burden you are placing on your executor or executrix.

June 9, 2017 – Shredding Event

Our 2nd annual shredding event has been scheduled.  Last year we collected over 2000 pounds of shredding and we are hoping to double that this year.   This year our event will be:

June 9, 2017 from 2:00pm to 6:00

We will again award a prize to the individual with the most amount of shredding.  So gather the boxes of papers in your basement, attic or your file room.  We are looking for old tax returns, old investment paperwork, old bills, old checks, old bank and credit card statements.  Anything that contains personal information that you do not want to throw in the trash and would like to get out of your house.  This would be the day to get rid of it.  Click here to find an information sheet about what can be shredded.

July 22, 2016:    1st Annual Shredding-Ribbon Cutting

Planning with Purpose held its first shredding event in the parking lot at 193 Riverside Dr.  We collected and shredded over 3400 pounds of paper – one household alone brought us just under 1000 pounds and won our “Most Weight in Shredding” gift card.  Next year we will look to do it in the months of May or September to avoid the heat of the summer.

We also drew the winner of our magnet turn-in.  Clients turned in old magnets – all the way back to Gerri Harrison Financial Services and up through the last version of the Ever Evolving Enterprises magnet.   Keep bringing the old magnets in and get a new one with the updated information.

The heat of the day was relieved slightly by ice cream and all the toppings from hot fudge, candies and whipped cream.  The leftovers were donated to the Salvation Army – a nice treat for their temporary residents.

We also did the ribbon cutting for the official announcement and opening of Planning with Purpose.  Make sure to say congrats to Jen on being part-owner next time you see her.

Thank you for all who attended and we love that we cleaned out this much from our clients’ homes.  Be on the lookout for next years’ announcement and plan on attending!!  We want to make it even bigger!!

June 12, 2016:  Wine and Painting Party

Planning with Purpose and Ever Evolving Enterprises held a wine and painting event at Uncorked Creations in downtown Binghamton for clients and their guests.

For those of you unfamiliar with Uncorked Creations they have an artist who will teach you how to paint a picture – everyone one painted the same picture.  The picture was chosen by us.  Add in some wine from Seneca Lake Wineries and the results – lots of laugh, fun and amazement at what we were capable of doing.  Take a look at group picture to see the differences in spite of us all painting the same identical picture!
